About Me

Welcome to Sci-Fi Briks!

I am passionate Adult Fan of LEGO® , and a keen Science-fiction fan. I’ve been inspired by the likes of Star Trek, Stargate, Battlestar Galactica and much more from a young age. But my passion for the new worlds we can access through science fiction goes far beyond that and has expanded into Snowpiercer, the Lord of the Rings, Doctor Who and Marvel.

Outside of my LEGO® building, I love to travel around Australia and overseas when I can. I studied Human Rights and Sociology at University and I volunteer at Comic-Con shows across the country. I also helped organise Australia’s largest LEGO® fan event, Brickvention.

This site showcases my creations built from LEGO®. I build from Sci-Fi shows, video games and the Marvel and DC Cinematic Universes. I build space ships and 1:1 prop replicas. I also build my own creative worlds like the Brik Forest and the Brik City! I talk about the design process and challenges faced with each model, and provide advice and tips and building instructions. I want this website to act as a resource for LEGO® builders, providing inspiration, ideas and tips on how to build and be creative.

I’ve been posting my creations made out of LEGO® (MOCs) since I started High School, so the blog shows the way my building style has changed over the years. Its been an incredible journey. My first few creations were far from accurate, and built quickly. Now I focus on detail and projects take months, rather than days. The most recent change in my design process has been embracing the digital world, and using Studio to build more detailed designs and building instructions. Unfortunately between work, University and general life I build less than I would like, but I am always working on something. So there might be big gaps between posts, but I will always keep posting! I also make YouTube videos which you can check out here!
