I am excited to share a brand new build! It’s been a few years since I sold my LEGO collection, severely limiting my capacity to design new MOCs. I’ve slowly been collecting bricks again, and working on some new builds, starting with the Lamarr-Class USS Voyager-A from Star Trek Prodigy.

For my first brand new build in around 4 years, I wanted to go back to the basics and build a classic Starfleet ship from Star Trek. Since Season 2 of Star Trek Prodigy aired, I’ve been attached to the Lammar-Class design, so naturally I had to replicate it with LEGO.
Traditionally, I have built Starfleet ships from Star Trek with a fairly standard formula that doesn’t use many SNOT (studs not on top) techniques. I changed it up a lot with Voyager, using SNOT bricks on the saucer to get a smoother finish underneath the saucer, and add the indented sections. The stardrive section is almost fully SNOT bricks as well. I finished the build with lots of curved slope and wedge elements to make it feel like a futuristic starship.
The challenge was achieving a high level of detail, including the different shades of the hull, and the phaser strips. I had to choose what I focused on, and decided the darker section of the saucer was more important than the phaser strips. I also went for a smaller size MOC than usual, to allow me to focus on utilising my limited selection of elements more effectively and make do with a much smaller LEGO collection.
