“Big Alice, forty cars long, versus Snowpiercer…”

Once I built Snowpiercer out of LEGO®, I couldn’t resist adding Big Alice to the display. Big Alice is clearly from the same world, but has an entirely unique design.

“On the eve of our nineteenth revolution, the great Mr. Wilford came out of the cold. It was the time of two engines. The Tail no longer the tail but a borderland. A time of great gamesmanship and great trainsmanship, of revolutions interrupted, and fresh track on new terrain.”

I absolutely loved replicating the Big Alice engine with lots of greebling, and unique elements. When I explored the design of the engine up close, I grew to appreciate all of the details. The Big Alice engine is higher and shorter than its cars and Snowpiercer‘s cars which I made sure to do correctly. However, I decided to make the Big Alice cars longer (with 10 bogies each!). This means it is around 1.5m long

The other difference with Big Alice is the yellow and black paint, which I loved being able to add! Its a break from the darker colours. Like Snowpiercer, I included the custom printed Wilford tiles. This MOC isn’t compatible with the Snowpiercer docking car – but it’s a modification I plan to make in the future. Of course, this would make the train around 5 metres long!
