The Design Process

The Valdore is one of my early builds from LEGO^® bricks. As soon as I saw it on screen in Star Trek: Nemesis, it immediately became one of my favourite ship designs from the Star Trek universe and it still is. I decided to go for a smaller scale due to a limited range of parts. This allowed me to use less pieces but still ensure the shape was accurate and immediately recognisable as a Romulan Warbird.

The biggest challenge was the colour. The Romulan Warbird is dark green, a colour that exists but with a limited variety of LEGO^® elements. So I decided to continue the build with the closest alternative that would still clearly resemble the ship, black.

The design leaves a lot of potential for a much bigger build which is still economical with parts, so I hope to one day build a bigger version (which better resembles the original dark green colour).
