I am excited to share another brand new build! This one is the Voyager-J from Star Trek Discovery – a ship much further down the design lineage than my previous Voyager-A build.
The design had a few challenges – including the harsh angles on the saucer and stardrive section. This ship is a change in design for other Starfleet ships as it lacks the curved edges. I used some harder to find wedge slopes on the saucer, and a SNOT (studs not on top) design for the stardrive. I also used a SNOT design on the underside of the saucer to remove a lot of the exposed studs.
Due to the smaller scale of the build, I was able to achieve the detached nacelles and saucer with some small transparent elements (which have been edited out of the photos).
